"one foot out the door" necklace

description: pearls, in my head, have always been a symbol of purity, class, and cleanliness. my whole life, i've been conditioned to think that all women should aspire to be women in pearls (not necessarily literally, but y'know... obviously all women want to be good, classy, "respectable," "subservient to men yet still #girlboss" madonnas...)

this ideal of womanhood is intensely limiting. it also doesn't suit me at all. even if i try to imitate this cultural norm, i get this gnawing sense that everyone can tell i don't fit in.

ANYWAYS! this is me trying to express my internal conflict lol. 50% pearl, 50% white lampwork glass beads with trapped air bubbles to express tension, the sensation of feeling trapped etc.
